New York state is investing $500 million in federal child care money on bonuses for child care workers. The Children’s Agenda Director of Policy, Pete Nabozny, explains why advocates worked to get the bonuses and how they will work to help with retention and recruitment of child care workers. He also identifies the long-term investments needed to rebuild the industry’s capacity so families can find child care when they need it.
